In order to become a sworn translator in Spain, the person must meet specified education requirements and pass strict exams that confirm the translators’ translation skills and knowledge of the languages. Sworn translator pay an important role in ensuring clarity and credibility of legal documents and facilitate communication between people who speak multiple languages.

Authorizing legal translations in Spain

Sworn translators in Spain are people with linguistic education that were officially recognized by the national authorities as capable of translating Spanish official documents, and their translations are considered legally binding. Their role is extremelly important, especially in the contexts of official and court documents, as well as other important legal acts.

In order to become a sworn translator in Spain, candidates must meet stricly defined criteria. They are usually required to have higher education in the field of foreign languages or translations. After meeting the requirements, the candidates must pass the special national exam, which evaluates their translation skills and their knowledge of law relating to certified translations. After passing the exam, the translators are being written down on the official list of the sworn translators. Then, they can provide certified translations that is being approved by different authorities.

Sworn translators in Spain also have entitlements to authorize official translations of documents. It means that their signature and seal on the document are the official confirmation that the translation is precise and faithful to the original. Thanks to them, it is possible to mantain the integrity and credibility of documents when Spanish authorities require legal document translation from one language to another.

Apostille in Spain

Legalization of documents in Spain

Spain is one of the signatories of The Hague Convention from 1961, which facilitates the process of legalizing documents used in international transactions. Thanks to this Convention, documents issued in Spain can be legalized through the Apostille procedure.

Apostille procedure: Apostille is a special seal that is being put on the original document. In Spain, Apostille can be issued by the Ministry of Justice or other authorized institutions. This seal confirms the authenticity of the document and is being accepted by all the countries-members of The Hague Convention.

Formalities: In order to receive Apostille for a document in Spain, it is necessary to submit an application in the appropriate institution or notary office. This process required to present the original document and paying a fee. After approval, the document receives the Apostille sill that legalizes it and makes it ready to be used in countries-members of The Hague Convention.

Na biuro tlumaczen trafilismy szukajac biura z dobrymi opiniami i nie zawiedlismy się…Ale od poczatku. To biuro tłumaczeń znalazłam przez przypadek w internecie na ostatnią chwilę kiedy musiałam zrezygnować z innego tłumacza. Nigdy nie spotkałam się z tak pomocnymi i fachowymi osobami jak państwo pracujący tam. Zlecenie wykonane na czas (mieliśmy mały problem z przesyłką, ale to tylko i wyłącznie wina Poczty Polskiej, biuro zrobiło wszystko co mogli a nawet i wiecej, stanęli na głowie bym mogła dostać dokumenty na czas, a ten gonił nieubłaganie), szybkie odpowiedzi mailem, wyczerpujące informacje i wyrozumiałe podejscie do klienta.
