1. What is the nostrification and when can it be conducted?
The nostrification is an official procedure to create a Polish equivalent to a foreign diploma. It can be conducted when a foreign degree certificate cannot be placed on equal footing with the Polish one based on the international equivalence agreements.

2. Where is the nostrification conducted?

4. How does the diploma nostrification process look like?
This is the comparison of the curriculum and of the duration of studies, of academic performance and of professional practice with conditions of the university that nostrifies the diploma. If differences detected, the university can delegate an applicant to pass some exams or complete apprenticeship.
5. When are the terms of nostrification procedure?
The procedure officially begins in the moment of an application for diploma nostrification and undergoes a formal assessment of the university. If an application is incomplete, the university sets up 14 days for the completion. 90 days is the limit to when the university renders the decision but this does not include the time of translation, exams and apprenticeship.

6. What are charges for diploma nostrification process?
The charges for diploma nostrification process is maximally 50% of professor’s salary. Each university specifies terms and situations when a person can be exempt from charges. Charges are not required when there is a lack of competence to conduct the diploma nostrification process.

7. What happens when the decision is negative?
In a case of lack of competence to conduct the nostrification process, the university issues a refusal which can be the source of accusation. Such refusal contains information about the identification of issuing authority, the legal basis, the justification for refusal and the accreditation to complain to the rector of the university.
